X-mas Fun
By Abel Ashes (All rights reserved)
You are lonely.
You are broke.
You are morbid and suicidal until your world is once again made bright as the twinkling lights and tinsel tassels by a gift wrapped package from your mother.
As you rip apart the Scotch tape and red and green wrapping paper you think of the chlorine bonding with the organic matter of decomposing fallen leaves releasing dioxin into the water supply and your uncle mysteriously getting a cancerous tumor for Christmas.
But then your world is once again made bright as the lily-white butt of a plastic nativity Jesus as you open your box to reveal a cheese log, a meat log, and a sweater.
